In conjunction with Malaysia’s theatrical release of Ah Long Pte Ltd, a press conference attended by the director ~ Jack Neo, producer ~ Sampson Yuen and the cast ~ Fann Wong, Mark Lee, Richard Low, KK Wong, Daniel Tan , Jack Lim and Koe Yeet was held on the afternoon of 4th March 2008, at J.W.Marriott Hotel KL.
In the evening, the cast attended the movie’s Malaysia Premiere at GSC Pavilion KL. Guests for the special event were treated to sumptuous food by the waiters aptly dressed with red ‘ah long’ headbands before the screening. Mr. Vincent Chew, the CEO of Cornell, who is also the main sponsor presented the cast with a souvenir. And 10 lucky Cornell winners got a chance to take a photo with the cast.

Ah Long Pte Ltd opened in Singapore over the Chinese New Year, 7th February 2008 and has been enjoying a successful run in the box office, spurred on by the first weekend box office of Singapore dollars $1.47 million, Jack Neo’s biggest opening so far!

Director Jack Neo is one of the most prolific filmmakers in Singapore and has scripted, directed and produced a successful string of coveted movies namely, "I Not Stupid" ( Singapore Box Office Earnings Hit S$3. 8 million) , "Homerun", "The Best Bet", “I Not Stupid Too” (Singapore Box Office Earnings Hit S$4.2 million) and his latest work "Just Follow Law" (Singapore Box Office Earnings Hit S$2.8 million) .

Ah Long Pte Ltd is a light-hearted black comedy about the triad world and the money-lending business. Instead of treating the subject of Ah Longs (money-lenders) seriously, the movie takes on a humorous and sarcastic treatment. It depicts how a young lady tries to restructure her money-lending triad into a professional and ‘loving' triad that stands against the use of violence after she takes over from her triad leader who has retired. Her various restructuring plans (which are no doubt very creative) bring about hilarious results. The film stars Singaporeans ~ Fann Wong, Mark Lee, Richard Low, and Malaysians ~ KK Wong, Daniel Tan, Jack Lim, Lai Ming and Koe Yeet.

The film is a partnership from Double Vision (the production arm of the Vision New Media group of companies), MediaCorp Raintree Pictures and Scorpio East Pictures. In Malaysia , the film is distributed by Buena Vista Columbia TriStar Films and will be released at cinemas nationwide from 12th March 2008. The film is rated 18PL.
